बुरहापुर मध्‍य प्रदेश येथील केले के पौधों के रोग का प्रकोप का किए सर्वेक्षण

नेशनल सर्टिफिकेशन सिस्टम फॉर टिश्यू कल्चर रेज़ड प्लांट्स, जैव प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग, नई दिल्ली द्वारा गठित एक समिति ने हाल ही में मध्‍य प्रदेश के बुरहापुर जिले के इछापुर, दपोरा, चपोरा, आडगांव आदि गांवों का सर्वेक्षण किया है। इस यात्रा का उद्देश्य हाल ही में 'बुरहापुर क्षेत्र में केले के पौधों में सीएमवी के प्रकोप' के बारे में जानकारी प्राप्त करना और भविष्य में इस तरह की घटनाओं को रोकने के उपाय सुझाना था। इस समिति के वैज्ञानिकों को प्लांट-वायरस इंटरेक्शन, एंटोमोलॉजी, प्लांट टिशू कल्चर, प्लांट मॉलिक्यूलर बायोलॉजी और केले में अनुसंधान का अनुभव है । नई दिल्ली से समिति के सदस्यों में प्रो. इंद्रनील दासगुप्ता, डॉ. आशुतोष पांडे, डॉ. अमलेंदु घोष, डॉ. सुधाकर श्रीवास्तव और परभणी से डॉ. ए टी दौंडे, डॉ. पी. एस. नेहरकर और डॉ. जी पी जगताप, शामिल थे। कई किसानों से बातचीत के दौरान आवश्यक  जानकारियां जुटाई गईं और पौधों से नमूने लिए गए। एक विस्तृत रिपोर्ट जल्द ही भारत सरकार के जैव प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग को सौंपी जाएगी।

श्री आर एन एस तोमर, उप निदेशक, उद्यानिकी विभाग, बुरहानपुर ने स्थल भ्रमण का समन्वय किया और सभी स्थानों पर समिति के साथ रहे। समिति ने बुरहानपुर जिलाधिकारी महोदया श्रीमती भाव्या मित्तल के साथ भी औपचारिक मुलाकात की और सीएमवी के प्रकोप से संबंधित कई मुद्दों पर चर्चा की। इस तरह की घटनाओं को कैसे रोका जाए, इस बारे में उनके सवाल के जवाब में, डॉ. आशुतोष पांडे ने एक बहु-आयामी दृष्टिकोण का सुझाव दिया- (i) वायरस के प्रसार को रोकने के लिए फसलों का चक्रीकरण (ii) यदि पौधे NCS-TCP मान्यता प्राप्त टिशू कल्चर कंपनियों से खरीदे जाते हैं तो किसानों को सर्टिफिकेशन लेबल की मांग करनी चाहिए जो NCS-TCP द्वारा QR कोड सहित वायरस मुक्त पौधों के लिए जारी किया जाता है  (iii) जैसे ही संक्रमण दिखाई दे, किसानों को पौधों को खेत से कुछ दूरी पर गाड़ देना चाहिए। किसानों में जागरुकता बढ़ाने की जरूरत पर जोर दिया गया।

Survey of CMV Outbreak in Banana in Madhya Pradesh

A committee constituted by NCS-TCP, Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi has recently surveyed different villages viz., Ichhappur, Dapora, Chapora, Aadgaon of Burhapur District (Madhya Pradesh). The purpose of this visit was to get an insight into the recent ‘Outbreak of CMV in banana plants ’ and suggest the means to prevent such kind of incidences in the future. The scientists of this committee have specialization in plant-virus interaction, entomology, plant tissue culture and plant molecular biology and research experience in banana. The committee members from New Delhi were Prof. Indranil Dasgupta, Dr. Ashutosh Pandey, Dr. Amalendu Ghosh, Dr. Sudhakar Srivastava and from Parbhani Dr. A T Daunde, Dr. P S Neharkar and Dr. G P Jagtap. During the interaction with several farmers in their farm, several information was gathered and samples were collected. A detailed report will soon be submitted to the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.

Mr. R N S Tomar, Deputy Director, Horticulture Department, Burhanpur has co-ordinated the site visits and accompanied the committee at all the places. The committee has met with the District Magistrate, Smt. Bhavya Mittal, of Burhanpur and discussed several issues related to CMV Outbreak. In response to her query on how to prevent such incidents, Dr. Ashutosh Pandey suggested a multi-pronged approach- (i) rotation of crops in order to break the spread of virus, (ii) in case the plants are purchased from NCS-TCP recognized tissue culture facilities, the farmers should demand for the certification label that are being issues for virus-free plants by NCS-TCP and contains QR code, (iii) as soon as infection is seen in the farm, the farmers should discard the plants by burying them at some distance from the farm. A need to increase the awareness of the farmers emerged.
