98th Annual General Meet and National Conference of Vice Chancellors of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) concluded with enthusiasm at Hyderabad

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Indra Mani shared agriculture higher education policies

The three-days, 98th annual general meet and National conference of vice chancellors 2024 of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) concluded with enthusiasm at Leonia Holistic Destination, Shamirpet, Hyderabad during April 15–17. The conference is jointly organized by AIU and the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education University and the event themed “Higher Education @ 2047”. Telangana Hon’ble Governor Shri C P Radhakrishnan inaugurated this conference on April 15. 
VNMKV, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Indra Mani actively participated this event and shared agriculture higher education policies with special relation to New Education Policy 2020.  During this annual general meet and National conference of vice chancellors 2024, Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak, vice-chancellor of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU), Kanpur was appointed as 103rd president of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
“It’s an honour for me to be appointed as the president of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It is a great responsibility and a matter of pride. I will try to create an ecosystem so as to encourage students to take up quality research,” said Prof Pathak over phone from Hyderabad  (Hindustan Times April 16, 2024). Also he said that, “I will work hard to help the Indian universities to get world ranking.” And will take up the issue of executing the new education policy’s (NEP) salient features, raising central funding for the state universities involved in important research activities, and work on taking the standards of Indian universities to global levels. His tenure as president will be for one year from July 1, 2024. Prof Pathak replaced Prof GD Sharma .
More than 500 Vice Chancellors from various central, state and deemed universities were  participated in the conference both online and offline, offering their insights on higher education.

Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani, delivered lecture in National Conference at Mount Abu, Rajsthan


Education wing, Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation and Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalay organised 5 days University and College educators National level conference on Global Transformation Through Spiritual Education during 18 to 22 April. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani was invited as Guest of Honour for this conference. He delivered lecture on 19 April on various aspects of social values and their significance in community, also elaborated spiritual education and its utility specially in New Education Policy 2020.
This conference was attended by Vice Chancellors, Administrators, Dean's/College Principals, Registers, HoDs and Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Counsellors and Guides from nation and interacted on various issues and challenges in spiritual education and conservation and reflective techniques to reduce stress, improve focus and develop a sense of peace, during this 5 days conference.

VNMKV’s Cotton Research Station, Nanded Receives Best AICRP Center Award

The Cotton Research Station, Nanded of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth (VNMKV), Parbhani, has achieved a significant milestone by being awarded the Best AICRP Centre on Cotton for the year 2024. This esteemed recognition was conferred during the Annual Group Meeting of AICRP on Cotton, held on April 5th and 6th, 2024, in Nagpur. This accolade acknowledges CRS's outstanding contributions in the development of cotton hybrids, varieties, and production technologies. 

Dr. Indra Mani, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of VNMKV, expressed his pride in the achievement, emphasizing the university's commitment to research excellence. He highlighted VNMKV's exceptional track record, with the university receiving the Best AICRP Centre Awards for Pearl Millet (twice), Safflower, Sunflower, and now, Cotton. He extended his congratulations to Dr. K.S.Baig, Director of Research, and all scientists involved in the research efforts, emphasizing the collaborative nature of the achievement. The recognition serves as a testament to VNMKV's commitment to advancing agricultural research and development. As CRS celebrates this milestone, it reaffirms its dedication to furthering cotton research for the betterment of cotton growers.

Dr. K.S. Baig, Director of Research at VNMKV, Parbhani, credited the unwavering support and guidance provided by Hon’ble VC Dr. Indra Mani, as well as the former Directors of Research, Dr. D.P. Waskar and Dr. J.E. Jahagirdar, in shaping the success of the Cotton Research Station.

The award was presented by Dr. T.R. Sharma, Deputy Director General (Crop Science) of ICAR, New Delhi, and Dr. Y.G. Prasad, Director of ICAR-CICR, Nagpur, to the scientist team at CRS, Nanded.

Yesterday *With the hands of Hon Prime Minister Shri Narendraji Modi, in New Delhi and  Gujarat Chief Minister Hon Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel* gave the drone to KVK, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-1 guided FPO Matoshree Babai Farmers Producers Company, Wakad, Tq Kannad Secretary Sulochana Shelke and Amrita Jaiswal under *Namo Didi Dron* . Also these two ladies completed Dron pilot traning from IFFCO.

VNMKV, Parbhani signed MoU with Western Sydney University (WSU)


Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth (VNMKV), Parbhani, and Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at New Delhi on March 6, 2024 to establish an international partnership for agriculture research and education activities. This collaboration aims to leverage joint research projects, academic programs, and student and staff mobility to foster innovation and educational excellence.

Dr. Indra Mani, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of VNMKV, Prof. Deborah Sweeney, Deputy Vice Chancellor & Vice President, Research, Enterprise & international (WSU), Prof. Ian Anderson, Director, Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment & Agriculture (WSU), Dr. Nisha Rakesh, Head, International Strategy & Partnerships (Food & Environment) (WSU), Dr. Kopal Chaube, Senior Research Program Officer (WSU), Ms. Namrata Anand, Regional Director (South Asia) attended the signing ceremony.

कृषि महाविद्यालय परभणीच्या राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजनेचे विशेष शिबिर संपन्न


वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठ अंतर्गत पश्चिम विभागीय कृषि मेळाव्याचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. यानिमित्त कृषि महाविद्यालय परभणीच्या राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजनेचे विशेष शिबिराचे आयोजन केले होते. शिबिराच्या उद्घाटन समारंभाच्या अध्यक्षीय भाषणात सहयोगी अधिष्ठाता डॉ. सय्यद इस्माईल यांनी राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजनेच्या स्वयंसेवकांना श्रमदानाचे उपयोग आणि महत्त्व समजावून सांगून जीवनामध्ये स्वयंशिस्तीचे पालन करावे असे आवाहन केले. यावेळी जिमखाना उपाध्यक्ष तथा राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना कार्यक्रम समन्वयक डॉ. पी. आर. झंवर, कार्यक्रमाधिकारी डॉ. भाग्यरेषा गजभिये आणि प्रा संजय पवार यांची उपस्थिती होती. शिबिरातील स्वयंसेवकांनी पश्चिम विभागीय मेळाव्यातील प्रदर्शनामध्ये असलेल्या विविध दालन धारकांना त्यांच्या कार्यात मदत केली, याबरोबरच प्रदर्शनास भेटी देण्यासाठी शहरातून व बाहेरगाऊन आलेल्या नागरिकांना आणि शेतकऱ्यांना सर्वोतोपरीने सहकार्य केले. तीन दिवस चाललेल्या मेळाव्यातील विविध समारंभ, मार्गदर्शन आणि सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमासाठी सभागृहातील व्यवस्थेतेसह सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमामध्येही शिबिरातील स्वयंसेवकांनी हिरीहिरीने भाग घेतला.

कृषि मेळाव्‍यात पश्चिम भारतातील महाराष्‍ट्र, गुजरात, राजस्‍थान, मध्‍य प्रदेश, छत्‍तीसगड, गोवा या राज्‍यासह दीव-दमन आणि दादर नगर हवेली येथील शेतकरी बांधव, कृषी तज्ञ, कृषि संशोधक, धोरणकर्ते, कृषि कंपन्‍या, कृषि अधिकारी, कृषि विस्‍तारक, आणि कृषि उद्योजक हजारोच्‍या संख्‍येने सहभागी होणार आहेत. मेळाव्‍याचा मुख्‍य विषय ‘हवामान-अनुकूल शाश्वत शेतीद्वारे शेतक-यांची समृद्धी’ आहे. यात चर्चासत्रे, शास्‍त्रज्ञ-शेतकरी संवाद आदींव्‍दारे विविध विषयावर तज्ञ मं‍डळी मार्गदर्शन करणार आहेत. सदर शेतकरी मेळावा आणि  कृषि प्रदर्शनीच्‍या माध्‍यमातुन राष्‍ट्रीय-आंतरराष्‍ट्रीय पातळीवरील नाविण्‍यपूर्ण कृषि तंत्रज्ञान, कृषि संशोधन पाहण्‍याची सुवर्ण संधी शेतकरी बांधवांना उपलब्‍ध होणार आहे. भव्‍य कृषि प्रदर्शनीत अद्ययावत कृषि तंत्रज्ञानावर आधारित विविध सार्वजनिक संस्‍था, खासगी कंपन्‍या, अशासकीय संस्‍था, शेतकरी उत्‍पादक कंपन्‍या आणि बचत गट यांच्‍या ३०० पेक्षा जास्‍त दालनांचा समावेश राहणार आहे. यात विषशेत: दर्जेदार बी-बियाणे, रोपे, खत, किटकनाशके, कृषि औजारे, कृषी निविष्ठा, डिजिटल तंत्रज्ञान, ड्रोन तंत्रज्ञान, आधुनिक सिंचन पध्‍दती, पशुधन इत्‍यादी दालनांचा समावेश राहील. यावेळी जिल्‍हा ग्रामीण विकास यंत्रणा वतीने बचत गटांच्‍या दालनांचा समावेश असलेल्‍या खाद्य महोत्‍सवाचेही आयोजन करण्‍यात आले आहे.

India achieved the food self-sufficiency through farmers' dedication, government policies, & Agricultural Research ….. Hon'ble VC Dr. Indra Mani

Celebration of 75th Republic Day at VNMKV, Parbhani

In a significant development for the agricultural sector, India has achieved self-sufficiency in food production, with a remarkable contribution from the farming community. Today, the nation stands at the forefront of food security, and the credit for this accomplishment goes to the dedicated efforts of farmers, government policies, and agricultural research. These sentiments were echoed by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Indra Mani during the hoisting of the flag at the main campus of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani on 75th Republic Day.

 

Dr. Indra Mani conveyed his Republic Day wishes to all present, emphasizing the pivotal role of agricultural research in the country's agricultural development. He highlighted the importance of agricultural science and technology in ushering in a green revolution across the nation. The VNMKV has played a key role in developing high yielding varieties of soybean, pulses, oilseed crops, ultimately leading to increased production and fulfilling the demands of the farming community of the region. The varieties of soybean and pulse varieties have gained widespread popularity, not only in Marathwada but also in other regions of the country. Over 2000 acres of additional uncultivated land have been brought under cultivation, aiming to double the seed production of the university. The university's efforts in the field of oilseeds, pearl millet, and safflower through the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) have been recognized with the 'Best Research Centre' accolade by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The university has taken a major jump in digital farming technology.  The university has been honored with the International Green University Award. Prioritizing farmer outreach, the university initiated the 'Majha Ek Divasa Majhya Balirajasathi' program in September 2022, covering more than 350 villages to date. Additionally, the university has secured a Corporate Social Responsibility fund of 22.50 Cr for the capacity building of farmers from this different institutes.

212th Executive Council Meeting at CRS, Nanded

The 212th Executive Council Meeting of the Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth (VNMKV), Parbhani, took place under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Indra Mani at the Cotton Research Station in Nanded on January 19, 2024.

Distinguished members of the Executive Council, including Hon’ble Dr. Rahul Patil, MLA, Parbhani, Hon’ble Shri Pravin Deshmukh, Hon’ble Shri Bhagwat Deosarkar, Hon’ble Dr. Adititai Sarda, Hon’ble Shri Vittalrao Saplal, DI and Dean Dr. UM Khodke, DoR Dr. DP Waskar, DEE Dr. DN Gokhale, Registrar Shri PK Kale, UE Shri Dipak Kashalkar, Comptroller Shri Pravin Nirmal, Dr. KS Baig, and other senior officers participated in the deliberations.

The meeting covered various topics crucial to the development and progress of the university. Various issues related to academic advancements, research initiatives, and infrastructure development were thoroughly discussed. The attendees engaged in constructive dialogues aimed at fostering the growth and excellence of VNMKV. The Executive Council members also visited the demonstration plots at the Cotton Research Station and the Agriculture Technology School in Nanded. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Indra Mani expressed his gratitude to all the council members for their contributions and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in elevating the standards of agricultural education and research at VNMKV.
