98th Annual General Meet and National Conference of Vice Chancellors of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) concluded with enthusiasm at Hyderabad

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Indra Mani shared agriculture higher education policies

The three-days, 98th annual general meet and National conference of vice chancellors 2024 of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) concluded with enthusiasm at Leonia Holistic Destination, Shamirpet, Hyderabad during April 15–17. The conference is jointly organized by AIU and the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education University and the event themed “Higher Education @ 2047”. Telangana Hon’ble Governor Shri C P Radhakrishnan inaugurated this conference on April 15. 
VNMKV, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Indra Mani actively participated this event and shared agriculture higher education policies with special relation to New Education Policy 2020.  During this annual general meet and National conference of vice chancellors 2024, Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak, vice-chancellor of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU), Kanpur was appointed as 103rd president of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
“It’s an honour for me to be appointed as the president of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It is a great responsibility and a matter of pride. I will try to create an ecosystem so as to encourage students to take up quality research,” said Prof Pathak over phone from Hyderabad  (Hindustan Times April 16, 2024). Also he said that, “I will work hard to help the Indian universities to get world ranking.” And will take up the issue of executing the new education policy’s (NEP) salient features, raising central funding for the state universities involved in important research activities, and work on taking the standards of Indian universities to global levels. His tenure as president will be for one year from July 1, 2024. Prof Pathak replaced Prof GD Sharma .
More than 500 Vice Chancellors from various central, state and deemed universities were  participated in the conference both online and offline, offering their insights on higher education.

Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani, delivered lecture in National Conference at Mount Abu, Rajsthan


Education wing, Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation and Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalay organised 5 days University and College educators National level conference on Global Transformation Through Spiritual Education during 18 to 22 April. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani was invited as Guest of Honour for this conference. He delivered lecture on 19 April on various aspects of social values and their significance in community, also elaborated spiritual education and its utility specially in New Education Policy 2020.
This conference was attended by Vice Chancellors, Administrators, Dean's/College Principals, Registers, HoDs and Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Counsellors and Guides from nation and interacted on various issues and challenges in spiritual education and conservation and reflective techniques to reduce stress, improve focus and develop a sense of peace, during this 5 days conference.

VNMKV’s Cotton Research Station, Nanded Receives Best AICRP Center Award

The Cotton Research Station, Nanded of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth (VNMKV), Parbhani, has achieved a significant milestone by being awarded the Best AICRP Centre on Cotton for the year 2024. This esteemed recognition was conferred during the Annual Group Meeting of AICRP on Cotton, held on April 5th and 6th, 2024, in Nagpur. This accolade acknowledges CRS's outstanding contributions in the development of cotton hybrids, varieties, and production technologies. 

Dr. Indra Mani, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of VNMKV, expressed his pride in the achievement, emphasizing the university's commitment to research excellence. He highlighted VNMKV's exceptional track record, with the university receiving the Best AICRP Centre Awards for Pearl Millet (twice), Safflower, Sunflower, and now, Cotton. He extended his congratulations to Dr. K.S.Baig, Director of Research, and all scientists involved in the research efforts, emphasizing the collaborative nature of the achievement. The recognition serves as a testament to VNMKV's commitment to advancing agricultural research and development. As CRS celebrates this milestone, it reaffirms its dedication to furthering cotton research for the betterment of cotton growers.

Dr. K.S. Baig, Director of Research at VNMKV, Parbhani, credited the unwavering support and guidance provided by Hon’ble VC Dr. Indra Mani, as well as the former Directors of Research, Dr. D.P. Waskar and Dr. J.E. Jahagirdar, in shaping the success of the Cotton Research Station.

The award was presented by Dr. T.R. Sharma, Deputy Director General (Crop Science) of ICAR, New Delhi, and Dr. Y.G. Prasad, Director of ICAR-CICR, Nagpur, to the scientist team at CRS, Nanded.
