VNMKV signed a MoU with GIZ for collaborative work on AgriPV

VNMKV, Parbhani signed a MoU with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (Germany) at Indian National Science Academy Seminar Hall, New Delhi on dt. 24.06.2023 for collaborative R & D of Agricultural Photovoltaic (AgriPV) technology. The MoU was signed by Prof. Indra Mani, Vice-Chancellor, VNMKV, Topias Winter, Director at Indo-German Energy Forum SO GIZ., and Mr. Vivek Saraf, CEO, Sunseed APV Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon. Dr.P.L. Gautam, Hon'ble Former Vice Chancellor, GP Pant University of Agriculture & Technology & Former DDG (Crop Science) and YVK Rahul were present on this occasion.

The goal of the research under MoU is to devise executable crop cultivation strategies for the selected crops under the different Agrivoltaic structures, that would benefit from the environment created by the solar panels to generate higher yields or higher revenues via shifting the timing of production to off season cycles. For over 60 years, GIZ has been working jointly with partners in India for sustainable economic, ecological, and social development. 

Objectives of the MoU are;

1. To create a crop suitability matrix for Agri PV in India Climatic Zone (Marathwada region especially)

2. To develop a R& D Partnership of VNMKV with German Institute on Agri PV

3. To support the capacity building of Agri officers in the domain of Agri PV

4.To prepare a methodology for assessing the potential of Agri PV technologies in India

5.Sharing of Research and Educational facilities for PG and Ph.D. Students related to Agri PV

6.To work collaboratively on any other topics of common interest such as precision farming, NRM, organic farming and other similar areas.

Prof. Indra Mani deliver a keynote address in Workshop on ‘AgriPV in India’ organized by MNRE, New Delhi

The primary objective of the Workshop was to bring together stakeholders from the Agriculture and Renewable Energy sectors including Researchers, Policymakers, Farmers, Industry Experts, and Academicians. Workshop on ‘AgriPV in India – Scope and Prospects’ was organised on 23^rd June, 2023 at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi by Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (GoI). Prof. Indra Mani, Vice-Chancellor, VNMKV, Parbhani deliver a key note address on ‘AgriPV from the Agricultural Research Perspective’.

AIU-SIU Uni20 Conference for University Leaders of G20 Countries was organised at The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Symbiosis International (Deemed University) (SIU) in Pune on 19th, 20th and 21st June on the theme ‘The Future of Universities: Making the World a Better Place to Live in: The Transformative Role of Universities’. The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Dr S.B. Mujumdar, Chancellor, SIU in the presence of Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro Chancellor, SIU, Dr. Rajani Gupte, Vice Chancellor, SIU and Secretary General, AIU. Prof. Indra Mani, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, VNMKV, Parbhani was attended the conference and interacted with Padma Bhushan Prof. Dr. S.B.Mujumdar on various issues regarding agricultural education.

VC Meeting with Honble Governor of Maharashtra regarding NEP 2020 implementation

Vice Chancellors meeting on Review of implimention of NEP 2020 policy under the chairmanship of Hon'ble Shri Ramesh Bais, Governor of Maharashtra held on 10th June, 2023 at Dr.PDKV Akola. VC Prof. Dr. Indra Mani graced the Brainstorming session held at IIT Kharagpur

IIT Kharagpur gears up to conduct a brainstorming session on Technology Vision 2047 & Climate Change from 1st to 2nd June, 2023 jointly organized with TIFAC (Technology Information Forecasting & Assessment Council) in the process of drafting Technology Vision 2047 with a narrative on Technology Independence – Vision of a self-reliant and climate resilient developed India. Prof. Indra Mani, VC, VNMKV graced the occasion as the Chief Guest by lighting the lamp in the august presence of Prof. V K Tewari, Director, IIT Kharagpur; Dr. Gautam Goswami, Scientist-G & Head-TV 2047, TIFAC and Prof. G. P. Raja Sekhar, Organising Chair, IIT Kharagpur and Prof. Goutam Saha, Chairperson, Centre of Excellence in Affordable Healthcare in the inaugural ceremony of the programme. The programme was convened by Prof. Abhijit Mukherjee, Geology and Geophysics, IIT Kharagpur.

The key aim of this workshop is to capture both fundamental and applied future research areas which will place India as an independent leader and extend support to the other nations. Precision Agriculture & Food Nutrition, Energy and Environment, Affordable Healthcare, Advance Materials and Advance Transportation are the thematic areas of the workshop.
