Parbhani, January 9, 2025: Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth (VNMKV), Prof. Indra Mani, visited the Agri-Photovoltaic (APV) Research Project at Manvat to review ongoing experiments and guide researchers on innovative approaches to sustainable farming.
The Hon'ble Vice Chancellor provided insightful guidance on a range of agricultural issues, including risk management practices under the APV system, the cultivation of exotic vegetables, and strategies for optimizing crop production under solar panels. He emphasized the importance of experimenting with diverse crops to manage climatic risks and improve farmers' resilience.
Prof. Indra Mani satisfied with the research efforts of the VNMKV team & GIZ. During the visit, Prof. Indra Mani was accompanied by Dr. K.S. Baig, Director of Research; Dr. H.V. Kalpande, Head of the Dept of Agri. Botany; PI Dr. Godawari Pawar, Dr. Kalalbandi, Dr. V.M.Gholve, Dr. Sunita Pawar and representatives from GIZ .
The Agri-Photovoltaic Research Project at Manvat aims to integrate solar energy production with agricultural practices, promoting sustainable farming while maximizing land use efficiency.
