The Association of Indian Universities (AIU), in collaboration with the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA), successfully organized the 2nd Masterclass on Artificial Intelligence for Vice Chancellors on 11th June 2025 at the India International Centre, New Delhi. The event witnessed the participation of around 60 Vice Chancellors from across the country, including Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of VNMKV, Parbhani, Dr. Indra Mani, who took part in this important knowledge-sharing initiative.
The event was inaugurated with insightful addresses by Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak, President, AIU; Dr. B. Shadrach, Director, CEMCA; Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, AIU; and Dr. Kuldeep Dagar, Joint Secretary, AIU. The sessions focused on demystifying AI for academic leaders and empowering them to embrace AI-driven strategies for institutional transformation. The first session, led by Dr. Chandrasekhar Anantram, Visiting Professor at IIT Delhi & IIIT Delhi, set the tone with an in-depth discussion on the AI Ecosystem in Universities – The Way Forward. It was followed by an engaging and hands-on workshop by Dr. Srijan Singh, CEO & Co-Founder, Kalam Centre, New Delhi, who introduced Vice Chancellors to Generative AI, Virtual Reality applications, & Prompt Engineering, demonstrating their practical applications in academic settings. A dynamic session by Amit and Rishu from Medicaps University, Indore showcased AI in Academic Leadership, Decision-Making, and Governance, with real-life case studies on enhancing university efficiency through AI-based tools. Experts from EY-Parthenon, Dr. Avantika Tomar and Mr. Divyanshu Gupta, shared strategies on Reimagining Higher Education through Digital Transformation, Data, and AI. Ms. Prashasti Rastogi, Director at Coursera, highlighted the power of personalized learning and Gen AI innovation in higher education, reinforcing the transformative potential of AI in pedagogy and curriculum design.
